Prompt: “In a town, a small house sat on the rougher side, surrounded by electricity pylons. There was a rail yard and a junkyard on either side of the house, with a power plant behind it. Inside, a girl was curled up in bed, the covers pulled over her head.
"Winnie!" A woman's voice called from downstairs. "Rise and shine, My Darlin."
"Ughhh," Winnie groaned, sitting up in bed and rubbing her eyes. "I'm up."
Winnie was a small girl, about 4'5", short for a 14-year-old, with a slender build. She had long, straight blond hair with blunt bangs covering her eyes.
She yawned, stretched, and slipped out of bed to get ready for school. She hated school.
She sighed, dressed in her favorite striped orange and white hoodie, which was oversized, reaching her mid-thigh with sleeves bunching at her wrists. She wore black stockings and white sneakers.
"Winnie, you need to get to the bus stop," her mother called from downstairs.
"I'm going," Winnie replied, grabbing her backpack and her little brother on her way out.
Her little brother Joey, about 8, had blond hair styled in a bowl cut with blunt bangs covering his eyes. He wore an orange and white jersey, baggy cargo pants, and white sneakers.
