Dressed in plate mail armor, with a blue tunic with a gold North Star heraldry emblem on it. Has a longsword and short sword on his belt. Very well, you will be welcome to join us, I will secure the helm, you and your team secure our deck,” he says with you just nodding in reply. You move toward the upper deck with your friends and allies behind you. Just before you reach for the door the ship lurches hard, causing everyone to grab the walls and railings to avoid falling.
“Keep your footing on this one men, for to fall off the ship now is certain death!” Commander Laraby said
with the ship settling a bit. You reach for the door again and feel it get ripped from your grip as the wind and rain instantly attack you without mercy. You realize you will have to move to the center of the ship and tie your rope around the mainmast before continuing. You start out across the deck that was slick and slanted to the right with the waves bearing around the ship on all sides. You reach the mast with your two friends by your side. Looking back you see the Commander and his Lieutenant moving up the stairs to the helm area like they said they were. You see the cannons were too wet and unbalanced to be used as the Captain had them wrapped with burlap tarps in an attempt to preserve them. You spot the bosun and a few sailors up near the bow of the ship, each tied on to the foremast or railings by a length of rope. You see several more sailors climbing the rigging on the mainmast with some up top tied off and awaiting the enemy. You must decide if you are going to stay upon the main deck and wait for the enemy or climb up the mainmast to join the others in the aerial attack. You realize that black powder weapons would be useless at the moment and bow weapons would be impossible in the gale. If you would like to tie yourself to the mainmast floor area and get ready to repel any invaders turn to 83
“We should tie ourselves to the mast down here!” you shout over the
storm tying your rope around your waist and then around the eyelets that were there at the base of the mast.
“Aye Jes,” Varek says joining you and tying his line to the mast as well with his brother doing the same. The ship shifted again causing all of you to grab hold of the mast as water crashed across the deck with everyone getting drenched if that was even more possible. Your clothes cling to your body like a limp rag as you see the pirate ship come alongside you. Looking back you see Thenward Swordarm and Muneer Raji exit the door from the cabin area below deck. Several more people follow the two men out as you recognize all of them quickly. The two champions make their way up to the upper deck where the rest of their team was as Commander Virale and Lieutenant Zimur stumble out to the deck area where you all where. Vaklen, Jetru and Azarik moved to the mast area where their Commander was as the leader looked to you.
“It will be an honor to fight by your side Templar!” the Commander yells over the storm with you nodding in reply. You all see scores of roped grappling hooks lash to the railing of your ship as the two ships are yanked together in the stormy sea. You see scores of men on the deck as several swinging over from the enemy mast with chains around their waists with a second man swinging over that hung from the length of the chain.
You see the first two chained men swing in slashing at Commander Virale as the men near the top landed on your mast. Several sailors engaged the men on your mast as you must deal with the men swinging in and the others that are simply spilling over the Glory Maid’s railings.
“Repel the boarders!” you hear Captain Xanther yell over the storm as he drew his cutlass and cut down pirates that were already fighting up near the helm. The Commander stumbles away from you as you can see the other soldiers are engaged with the pirates that were attacking as they ran across your deck.Varek and Carun engage a group of pirates that tried to overtake your area with you having to face three men of your own. You see all three of them were blond men looking from the southern seas of Ralian descent.
“Give up now and save your lives!”
one of the men yells as you get ready to engage him. The shift shifted against you as the three smirked in joy at their advantage as they all attacked together. You will have to fight all three at once.
You finish off your last opponent and look over to have someone knock
into you throwing you back. “Jes!” you hear Varek scream as you feel your line get cut and you flip over toward the side of the railing with the ship rocking from the storm. You try to grab on to the nearest rope that you see as the ship works against you, trying to throw you off the side.
You grasp the line that was tied to your ship as you stop your decent
into the cold stormy sea. Your body swings along the hull as you see a pirate that was climbing up the side of your ship with climbing hooks. You kick the man square in the side knocking him into the sea as he fell with a scream. The ship rolls against the storm causing it to be easier to climb up the side. You use your rope and climb up the rest of the way and pull your tired body over the railing and use the rope to pull yourself up. You see a filthy pirate turn about as you climb over with the man smiling with menace in his eyes.
You gain 1 E.P. and turn to 400
You arrive back to your deck with several pirates taking on King Talun’s soldiers. A pirate with a hand axe turns and cuts your line when you swing over, causing you to have to engage the filthy man. Even the rainstorm couldn’t wash all the dirt from the man’s body and clothes. His filthy yellow nubs for teeth looked black and rotted as you moved near to you.
“Hello mate,” he spits at you and trying to knock you overboard. You feel the ship lurch causing your movement to get the upper hand as you realize you could try to avoid his kick and throw him overboard. If you would like to grab him and throw him over the railing turn to 358
Reaching out you try to grab the filthy pirate’s overcoat and toss him in
the sea behind you as the man tried to kick you over the railing. You realize that you pray you are faster than his attack or you will be the one falling into the sea much to your horror. The filthy pirate laughs as you try to reach for his filthy red coat.
You grasp the filthy pirate’s coat and yank hard causing the man’s eyes
to widen in terror and surprise as he tried to kick you in the face but missed. You hear him scream out as you let go of his coat and feel him slip over the railing with a shrill cry.
“Burn in the nine hells!” you hear the man’s words fade as he drops into the icy sea that awaited him. You see two more pirates turn towards you as their brethren continued to attack your comrades that fought bravely aboard the ship.

“Get the ship clear of the scurvy lot of them!” Captain Xanther shouted over the din of combat and the storm, with his men concentrating on removing the grapples that were tethering the two ships together. You could hardly see in the gray sheets of rain as you try to see what was going on now that the enemy along the mast was dead. You spotted Commander Virale still fighting on the deck with Lieutenant Zimur and the King’s soldier’s by his side. Commander Laraby stood with his Lieutenant Abin and King Unther’s champions defending the Captain and the helmsman flawlessly. You notice Andtiln was now back aboard your ship near Kebin who was now steering the ship. You saw Cavum the bosun near the side of the ship with a good number of the crewmen that were cutting the lines from the enemy ship as the storm continued to rage on. The ship lurched to the side causing the two ships to rip apart with the last couple lines snapping from the force of the sea. You could see the enemy Captain standing atop the deck looking toward your ship with grim resolve and anger on his face. His large black hat ripped from his head as the wind tore it into the sea with his large red overcoat blowing open. The two ships drifted apart in the angry sea with the pirates that were caught on your ship were quickly cut down from the defenders.
“Sail on, get clear of them quickly mates, we can’t afford another boarding!” the Captain yelled as the ship bobbed in the stormy sea almost capsizing from the thirty foot waves. The Glory Maid lurches hard as it glided down the new swell from the sea escaping the enemy ship for the moment. You could only see the enemy ship’s mast as they vanished behind the huge wave. Rain continued to pelt you as you held your grip tightly to the ship, praying that they wouldn’t ram your hull.
“Hard to port, now!” the Captain yelled over the clamor as the helmsman turned the wheel. You are glad that the Captain was quick on the escape and realize that the ship was now bounding over the next wave leaving the enemy ship still trying to recover on the other side of the first swell.
“Full sails now!” Captain Xanther yelled with the crew and soldiers, including you scrambled to aid the Captain’s orders. “Captain that may destroy us!” Diz screamed over the din of the storm with the Captain waving down at the first mate. “Tis the only chance mate now do it!” the Captain screamed in reply with the dwarf nodding and turning to aid the others that were lowering the main sail. “Get the wounded below and tend to them!” Commander Laraby yelled with the champions leaping into action. You saw Sarindel with Krisenda helping Duric Flamehammer down the stairs with the dwarf bleeding from head wounds.
“Jes I’m going to get some first aid,” Varek says as you see the knight was bleeding heavily from the side.
