Prompt: “Chapter 1 opens in the present with Xael, now a ratman plague doctor, in mid-crisis of healing one of the farmers named Bill, who was in the middle of an awakening, as the first Hellspawn storm approaches their stronghold. After showing the readers a brief look at his current life & situation, he explains that this world - where he was currently being referred to as the mayor of a settlement called Haven - was actually a game that he liked to play on the nights he had a chance to go home from the hospital he was working at, back when he existed in the real world that is. This current, Xael the ratman, was not normal. Though, it had somewhat become that to him over the last few years. Xael had a rough journey getting this far in this game without being deleted like a side character whose time had long ago come to an end. Now, he was the main protagonist & something called an Ambiv; something like a mix between a player & an NPC. What was even more complicated was the fact that the players treated him like an emotional AI interactive NPC. This was how he easily gained the protagonist role, amongst other things, but it was growing harder to hide what he really was & soon the game would go live & become available to all players who wanted to play online for free. What was this game called: Omen of the Dead, a large open-world expansive roleplay game that is conceptually a survival RPG, like 7 days to die or Ark, but with demonic zombies, blighted beast, Nosferatu & etcetera, all know as Hellspawn. The planet is called Nether & humanity, here, has nearly been extinct for the most part. What remained were the Cambions: half-human, half-demon individuals who are much stronger, resistant to mental corruption or erosion & able to utilize the ambient Demonic Qana that surrounded the planet. Xael was such a being, but he was different from any that these Cambion had ever seen before. He was a ratman Cambion, something they had once heard from other space traveling sapients and/or players who have landed on Nether during this time. Of course, any who came to Nether, during this demonic apocalyptic event, ended up trapped on the planet, dead, corrupted & turned, or mutates into a Cambion after completing a certain death trial. As Xael begins to wrap up his healing process, he tells the readers he will return since it was too early for them to see what was currently happening to Bill. Xael reappeared out of the church minutes later as a Hulking, blighted brute rat appeared in the distance. He could see it approaching, even walking through their braziers where the blighted was not supposed to be able to roam because of the herb smells that kept the disease & diseased at bay. Xael realized that there was something different about this rat from the others. It’s powers were as demonic as they come but it was almost like this one was some kind of demonically blighted draconic rat-beast that looked like a draconic behemoth. The perimeter patrols had already done their best to fend off the creature but Xael had been forced to tell them to retreat since none of them could barely stop this creature. Luckily, the Cambion players who have awakened Qana have been able to keep it from continuously approaching New Haven Hospital & Central command facility but it’s still slowly progressing. Because they cannot stop it before it reached the children’s orphanage, Xael was forced to reveal himself by removing the plague doctor mask & allowing his very unique tail that hid under his coat to reveal itself, fully, showing all of its piranha-like shark teeth spiraling down into its earthworm-like mouth & throat. But just before Xael actually jumps into action, he turned back to the reader again, saying, sorry because he’s getting ahead of himself, knowing the readers knew nothing about him in reality, so as the narrator, it was almost as if he paused the world to speak to the readers directly for a moment to tell them that if they wanted to know the results of his battle with the big rat hulk then they’d have to hear the story of how he got to this point first. He asked the readers if they were willing to hear his story. He hears most say yes while a few make a few lewd or unnecessary remarks that Xael retorts to a few of. Before continuing on with the yeses, that have the majority vote. Xael tells the reader to sit back & grab some popcorn because the story he was about to tell was one he would not believe is he had not lived out himself.
ending his first day surviving fights against other blighted rats in a sewer, growing stronger & larger as he allocated stat points appropriately in his original Omen System.”
