Seventeen-year-old Haruto Saito wakes up in a hospital in Tokyo and discovers that civilization is gone. After weeks of surviving alone, he reunites with his childhood friends Ren, Yuna, Daiki, and Aoi. Believing they may be the last humans alive, they set out to discover what caused the apocalypse. Arc 1 – The Silent Tokyo The group survives in abandoned Tokyo. While searching for supplies, they notice strange signs: Fresh footprints. Missing food. Lights turning on in empty buildings. Someone else is out there. But whenever they investigate, nobody can be found. Arc 2 – The Forgotten Past Inside an abandoned government research center, Haruto discovers old files. To his horror, his own name appears in classified documents. Yet he has no memory of ever working there. Large portions of his memories are missing. Someone erased his past. Arc 3 – The Zombie Tears The group captures a zombie for research. During an experiment, the zombie begins crying. Then it scratches a message onto the floor: "PLEASE HELP ME." The group realizes the horrifying truth. The zombies are fully conscious. Their minds are trapped inside bodies they cannot control. Every zombie is still human inside. Arc 4 – Ren's Secret Ren begins acting strangely. He heals from injuries too quickly. Zombies never attack him. Eventually the truth is revealed. On the first day of the outbreak, Ren was bitten. He has been hiding it for years. Instead of becoming a zombie, he is slowly evolving into something far more powerful. Arc 5 – The Hidden City The group discovers a massive underground city beneath the Japanese Alps. Thousands of survivors live there. But when they see Haruto, everyone panics. The survivors believe Haruto caused the apocalypse. Ancient records reveal that Haruto was involved in the creation of The Pulse. Arc 6 – Aoi's Truth Haruto finally recovers his lost memories. The memories reveal something impossible. Aoi died before the apocalypse ever began. The girl traveling with them isn't human. She is an AI consciousness created from Aoi's memories. Only Haruto can truly see her. Yet she has developed real emotions. Arc 7 – The Zombie Emperor The group travels to a secret facility beneath Antarctica. There they encounter the Zombie Emperor. The first infected human. The ruler of every zombie on Earth. But he reveals another truth. The Pulse wasn't created as a weapon. An ancient alien civilization was approaching Earth. The Pulse was meant to connect every human mind into one super-intelligence capable of defending the planet. Instead, the experiment failed. Arc 8 – The Final Choice The group discovers a cure. But there is a terrible cost. The cure will kill every infected human. Billions of people will die forever. Humanity can be saved. But only by sacrificing humanity itself. The friends are torn apart over the decision. The Biggest Twist Haruto discovers he wasn't just involved in the project. He was its creator. Years earlier, he discovered The Pulse would fail. Unable to stop it, he erased his own memories and placed himself in cryogenic sleep. The person he has been searching for all this time... was himself. Final Battle Ren fully transforms into a new Zombie King. Yet he remains himself. Using his connection to every infected mind on Earth, he uploads the cur”
