Prompt: “medieval fantasy, a merchant ship. Jesenian a albino elf with long white hair, wearing plate armor and a blue tunic with gold North Star harldry on the chest. Goes up to see the black hatted and coat captain that is shouting orders up on the deck near the helm as the ship leaves the middle eastern coastal city harbor as it comes under attack by pirates. You step back out into the hallway and look back as the Eternal One nods and closed the door. You turn and see that the two men that were here a moment ago were gone and start for the deck where the Captain was shouting his orders. You pull open the lower deck door and head up top to see the waters around the harbor are much more turbulent now as the Captain was pulling his ship away from the wharf. You see Captain Xanther up near the helmsman as Diz was shouting down orders to the men below.
“Reef the sails quickly, load the cannons, get the ballistae loaded men, we will not be caught off our rocker this time!” the first mate yells as you climb up the steps. The Captain sees you and waves you over as he pulls a spyglass from his coat.
You move over to him as he extends the length of it and hands it to you.
“Take a look there, enemy are landing upon the dock on the far side I have seen. There are also some enemy ships coming in from that direction. I think we should go closer can take a few shots from the cannons before leaving,” the Captain
says with you looking at the docks from where you where. You see two ships along the docks with pirate flags on their banners. The gangplanks were lowered and scores of men were pouring onto the wharf and killing anyone in their way.
You could only look on in horror as merchants, travelers and city guard were all being cut down without mercy. You see people also fighting back as some had skills in warfare and could try to resist the onslaught. You hand the Captain back his glass and look out at the waters at the north end of the harbor and see only
two merchant ships sailing away from the attack.
“Captain I’d agree normally, but I
think we should follow those two merchant ships out of this harbor. I think there will be too much turmoil in that area right now,” you say with the Captain looking at you with a dark browed look.
“I see,” the Captain says after a moment and turned to the helmsman.
“Change your course, follow those two out,” he says pointing to the two ship with Kebin the dwarven helmsman nodding and spinning the wheel. The Captain turns back to you with a slight grin,
“Perhaps caution would be the better route,”
“Aye Captain but feel free to unleash on the enemy should the chance arise,” you say
with a grin as the Captain beamed with pride and nodded. You turn to the harbor and see five more pirate ships sailing toward the center of the harbor. A couple of the King’s warships turn toward them preparing to fire. You wait and watch as you see cannons and catapults fire at the pirate ships. Fireballs soar with thick black contrails through the air as they try to ignite the incoming attackers.
You watch as one of the ships collide into the King’s ship with men yelling and fighting as the two ships burned right in the harbor much to your shock and
surprise.
“Fire!” you hear the first mate yell as the two new cannons the crew had picked up blasted into the pirate ships. You hear the Captain yell to reload over the din of the cannon fire that was still ringing in your ears. The two pirate ships fire back at the King’s ships as the two King’s vessels explode upon impact. Fire engulfs several of the harbor ships as another huge explosion erupts from the center of the harbor area, causing several ships to vanish in the wash of flame. You see bodies of people flying in all direction as other ships on the fringe were showered with fiery rain as they became ablaze as well.Enormous amounts of smoke cover the area making it difficult to see what was happening now.
“Get below deck Jesenian, this is no place to be at the moment,” the Captain says looking at you sternly before looking back through his
spyglass at the turmoil.
“By your leave Captain,” you say moving back down the stairs and head for your room once more. You look at the inferno that was the center of the harbor and feel relieved that you listened to Sarindel’s advice. Men died in droves from the catastrophe, as the survivors tried to tread water and avoid being killed in the aftermath”
