  1. #1The story opens with Mark Grayson—a typical, awkward high school senior with a part-time job at a burger joint. Despite being the son of Nolan Grayson, who secretly operates as the alien-born, Superman-esque hero Omni-Man, Mark lives a relatively normal life and spends his time in class daydreaming and reading comic books.
  2. #2While taking out the garbage behind his workplace, Mark attempts to throw a large bag into the dumpster but accidentally launches it into orbit. After years of waiting and wondering if he inherited his father's Viltrumite genes, he finally realizes his powers have fully awakened. Elated, he returns home to share the news with his parents.
  3. #3Later that evening, Nolan takes Mark to Art Rosenbaum, a close family friend and secret superhero tailor, to get a custom costume. Mark discards an initial generic design and waits to find his identity. The next day, after using minimal strength to easily overpower a school bully and getting sent to the principal’s office, his principal jokingly warns him that he isn’t "invincible". The comment gives Mark his superhero moniker.
  4. #4Dressed in his newly tailored blue-and-black suit, Mark steps out for his first night on the job as "Invincible." He encounters a group of armed thieves robbing a jewelry store. When the robbers open fire, Mark is completely unharmed by the bullets. Stepping out of the smoke, he delivers his iconic introduction:"Don't bother. I'm Invincible."
  5. #5The story begins with Mark dealing with the physical reality of his new life. His first superhero fight leaves him with a black eye, which he struggles to hide from his classmates at school. At home, Nolan gives Mark a reality check, explaining that Viltrumites can still feel pain and get hurt. Mark realizes that having superpowers does not make him completely immune to suffering.
  6. #6Nolan takes Mark to the sky for a serious flying lesson. Unlike the effortless gliding Mark imagined, his father shows him that flying requires intense focus, core strength, and navigation skills. They race across the globe, and Mark experiences the sheer scale of his abilities for the first time. However, the lesson ends abruptly when Nolan pushes Mark hard, accidentally knocking him into a mountain to test his durability.
  7. #7While patrolling the city alone, Mark encounters his first major supervillain threat: David Hiles, a disgruntled high school teacher who has built a bomb powered by a student's kinetic energy. Mark relies on his speed to stop the device, but he is forced to make split-second decisions to save nearby civilians. He successfully neutralises the threat, earning his first genuine victory.
  8. #8The chapter ends on a tense note. After the battle, Nolan takes Mark aside for a private conversation. While praising Mark's bravery, Nolan drops a hint about the true, brutal nature of the Viltrumite Empire, leaving Mark with a lingering sense of unease about his heritage and his father's expectations.
  9. #9While patrolling the city at night, Mark stumbles upon a robbery committed by the villain Killcannon. Before Mark can handle it alone, a group of teenage superheroes known as the Teen Team—consisting of Robot, Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate, and Atom Eve—intervenes. Mark joins the fray, and together they easily defeat the villain. He is thrilled to find peers who understand the double life of a teenage hero.
  10. #10The next day at school, Mark receives a massive shock when he recognizes his classmate, Samantha Eve Wilkins, as Atom Eve. The two meet privately, and Eve agrees to keep his secret as long as he keeps hers. This shared double life creates an instant bond between them, giving Mark a true confidant outside of his parents.
  11. #11The bonding is cut short when a sudden interdimensional portal opens over the city. Green, monstrous aliens known as the Flaxans emerge and begin a destructive assault. Mark joins the Teen Team on the front lines to defend the city. He quickly learns how chaotic and unpredictable real superhero warfare can be as the team scrambles to protect civilians.
  12. #12The heroes manage to push the invaders back, but the victory comes with an ominous twist. The Flaxans age rapidly in Earth's dimension, causing them to retreat before they can be fully defeated. During the chaos, Robot notices that the aliens are analyzing Earth's technology, setting up a far more dangerous return. Mark realizes that his new life is going to be much more complicated than he ever imagined.
  13. #13The story opens with Nolan being called away on an urgent, classified mission across the galaxy, leaving Mark as the primary defender of the city. Mark struggles to balance his mounting high school homework with an exhausting solo patrol schedule. He begins to feel the true, heavy burden of the mantle his father has carried for decades.
  14. #14An emergency alert from the Global Defense Agency (GDA) disrupts Mark's routine. An unidentified alien vessel has entered Earth's orbit and is refusing communication. Eager to prove he can handle a threat without his father, Invincible flies into the upper atmosphere to intercept the ship. He boards the craft, expecting a violent invasion force like the Flaxans.
  15. #15Inside the ship, Mark engages in a fierce, destructive brawl with a massive, one-eyed alien named Allen. The alien possesses strength that rivals Mark's own, pushing the young hero to his absolute physical limits. However, mid-fight, Allen suddenly stops and checks a cosmic clipboard. He reveals that he is actually a galactic safety inspector from the Coalition of Planets, and he has accidentally been visiting the wrong planet for the last fifteen years.
  16. #16Before Allen flies away, Mark brings up his father, Omni-Man, expecting Allen to recognize the great galactic hero. Allen is confused and reveals that Viltrumites are not known throughout the galaxy as peaceful protectors, but rather as ruthless, conquering conquerors. Allen leaves Mark floating alone in space, deeply shaken by the realization that his father’s heroic backstory might be a total lie.
