Mufasa looks across the vast kingdom. Herds of animals roam peacefully below. For the first time, he begins to understand that being king means more than being powerful. - #2“# Mufasa: The Lion King ## Chapter 1: The Future King ### Scene 2 – The Storm As evening approaches, the sky darkens. The storm clouds Mufasa saw earlier have reached the Pride Lands. Thunder rumbles across the savanna. Young **Mufasa** stands beside his father on Pride Rock, watching the wind bend the tall grass. **Mufasa:** "I've never seen a storm this big." **Father:** "Nature is powerful. A king must respect it." Suddenly, a frightened gazelle rushes toward them. **Gazelle:** "Help! My child is trapped near the river!" Without hesitation, Mufasa dashes after the gazelle. At the riverbank, the water is rising fast. A young gazelle struggles on a small patch of land as the current grows stronger. Mufasa's heart pounds. **Mufasa (thinking):** "I'm scared... but I can't leave them." Remembering his father's words, he leaps from rock to rock through the rain. With one final jump, he reaches the young gazelle and gently guides it back to safety. The mother gazelle embraces her child. **Gazelle:** "Thank you, Mufasa!" Mufasa smiles, soaked from the rain. His father arrives moments later. **Father:** "Today, you learned the first lesson of a king." **Mufasa:** "What's that?" **Father:** "Courage isn't the absence of fear. It's doing what's right despite it." Lightning flashes across the sky.
