Chapter Zero
Page 1: The Great Shift
No one remembers the time when the world changed.
Some say it was a solar flare. Others say some sort of god. They’re still arguments about alien contact or even ancient DNA awakening.
But the truth?
The truth is simpler—and far more terrifying.
One day, people just…changed…
The ones who changed were no longer human , they were classified as ParaHumans..
what made it more terrifying were that these Newly Found Evolved humans known as the ParaHumans started to develop powers that were later classified as
“Gifts”
It was recorded that A boy stopped a boulder 5 times of a grown man with his bare hands. A woman stated in a hospital she was cured by an unknown disease when the doctor just touch her. A child cried—and the sky answered with thunder.
They layered called it The Great Shift.
At first, it was chaos. Fires. Floods. Cities thrown into panic as ordinary people discovered they could change reality itself. Governments, civilization collapsed under the pressure of something they couldn’t control.
And then, just as quickly as it began… the world adapted.
Page 2
Those who awakened abilities became known as Gifter’s.
No two powers were the same. Some were simple—enhanced strength, speed, heightened senses. Others defied explanation entirely—time distortion, gravity manipulation, shadow merging, memory rewriting.
A “Gift” wasn’t just power. It was an identity.
Scientists tried to categorize them:
• Type A (Physical) – Strength, durability, agility
• Type B (Elemental) – Fire, water, lightning, wind
• Type C (Cognitive) – Telepathy, foresight, illusion
• Type D (Abstract) – Time, space, probability, reality
• Type X - The Unexplained
But classifications didn’t matter when someone could erase a building with a thought.
Gifts weren’t earned. They weren’t chosen.
They were given.
And not everyone used them for good.
Page 3
When the dust settled, the world demanded order.
Out of the chaos, figures began to rise—people who used their Gifts to protect instead of destroy. They stopped disasters. Rescued civilians. Fought back against those who abused their power.
They became symbols.
They became Heroes.
Governments formed organizations to regulate them. The THWS - The Hero’s World Association.Training academies were built to refine their abilities. Licenses were issued, rankings assigned.
Heroes became celebrities.
To the public, they were hope wrapped in human form.
But behind the masks and cameras… they were still just people.
People who could fail.
Page 4
For every hero, there was someone who chose a different path.
Not all villains were born evil. Some were rejected by society. Some were hunted for powers they never asked for. Some simply realized that in a world of gods…
Rules didn’t matter anymore.
They rejected control.
They rejected authority.
They embraced their Gifts fully—and without restraint.
These individuals became known as Villains.
They formed underground networks, syndicates, and factions Known to be The Underground. Some wanted chaos. Others wanted power. A few believed they were the only ones truly free.
To them, heroes weren’t saviors.
They were enforcers.
Page 5
Thus Society split into 3 groups:
1 The Gifted – Feared, admired, controlled
2 The Powerless – The majority, watching from the sidelines
3 The Underground - The villains
Cities became battlegrounds hidden behind normal life.
A peaceful street could turn into a war zone in seconds.
A quiet student might secretly be one of the strongest Gifter’s alive.
Trust became fragile.
Because anyone… could be something more.
Page 6
A Gift isn’t free.
Every ability comes with a price.
Some pay physically—bodies breaking under the strain of their own power.
Others pay mentally—losing memories, sanity, or control.
And some… pay in ways no one fully understands.
There are stories whispered among Gifter’s:
People who pushed their power too far… and became something else entirely.
Not a hero.
Not a villain.
Something beyond.
They were later called the Overtaken.
And when they appear… even heroes run.
Page 7
Beneath everything—the heroes, the villains, the organizations—there is a deeper mystery.
Why did The Shift happen?
Who caused it?
And why do some Gifts feel… connected?
There are rumors of ancient records predicting this era. Of symbols appearing across different continents. Of certain Gifter’s sharing abilities that shouldn’t be possible.
Some believe Gifts aren’t random.
They’re part of something bigger.
Something planned.
And if that’s true…
Then this world isn’t evolving.
It’s being prepared.
Page 8
This is not a story about good versus evil.
It’s a story about power.
What it means to have it.
What it means to lose it.
And what it costs to control it.
In a world where anyone can become a god…
The line between hero and villain is thinner than ever.
And somewhere in the middle of it all—
Someone is about to awaken.
Not the strongest.
Not the fastest.
But something far more dangerous.
Someone who might finally answer the question no one has been able to solve:
Why were the Gifts given at all?
